May 2021 School Board Filing Information
School Board positions are non-partisan.
Multiple boards will have seats up for election this May.
A qualified candidate must be a U. S. citizen, an Arkansas resident, live in the jurisdiction to be represented at time of filing and throughout term, be lawfully registered to vote, and must never have been convicted of embezzlement of public money, bribery, forgery, or other infamous crime.
Any qualified person desiring to be a candidate for office in the General Election to be held on May 18, 2021 must file a Nominating Petition, Affidavit of Eligibility, Petition Affidavit, and Political Practice Pledge with the County Clerk during the filing period: February 22 at 12:00 noon until March 1, 2021 at 12:00 noon. Details can be found on the County Clerk's website.
To file, the Petition must contain signatures from not less than twenty (20) qualified electors of the zone in which the candidate files. Board members typically serve for five years.
